Well, the fishing is a little slow with the incredible temerature swings, but they are still catching!

okay, ice fishing is well under way and the ice is about 11 inches thick. The temperatures during the day range between 0 and 3 degrees above freezing, but goes back down over night, so we are not losing any ice.

Travelling to Promised Land Camp

For those of you who are travelling up here I just wanted to remind you that Highway 11 now bypasses the small towns of Sundridge and South River. If those were normal stop off places for you there is an off ramp to either town to use. The good news is that the bypass now takes about 8 – 10 minutees off your drive. There is only about 17 KM left that is not a double lane highway and that stretch should be open by the spring fishing. Just thought you would like to know.

The huts are out and the first fish has been caught

the kick off of our season……

A big thank you to Melissa, Ken and Jason who helped put out the huts. There is about 10 inches of ice where our huts are located and Jason used his equipment to locate the best spots where there is lots of structure and various depths. the huts are situated in approximately 19 – 25 feet of water and Jason was marking lots of fish, so hopefully we will be in for a good season.

Well, 2012 is here and the ice is ready to receive ice fishermen! Henning is pulling out the huts on Tuesday after the -20 temp and then we are off and running. If you are booked please continue with your plans and if you have not yet booked please call to check on availability.

The season has come to an end

Well, the cottages are closed up, the boats are put away, the leaves have been raked and the camp is bedded down for the winter as we turn our thoughts to the Ice Fishing season. We have had a great summer and fall season this year and look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Although there was some rain this trip the fishing was fantastic!

, The week that the four friends camp to PLC was awesome as described by them. They had good weather, bad weather, good laughs, great food even if it was left behind on an occasion. The fishing was also very good! Nice to see you guys again and looking forward to next year.
